Although not confirmed, the locations for the future home CONCACAF hex World Cup qualifying matches for the U.S. Men’s National Team after the March 22 date in Colorado are become clearer. A report came through on Saturday that confirmed many people’s suspicions that Columbus would be the home for the match against Mexico. It also looks like the turf in Seattle will not be an issue as they are set to host the match against Panama. Salt Lake and Kansas City are the favorites to host the other two home matches with the finale held at Sporting Park in Kansas City. U.S. Soccer has not confirmed any of these venues, but they make sense to us.
Last month we mentioned that the font on Major League Soccer jerseys is changing for the 2013 year. Now MLS has announced Jersey Weekthat begins next Monday and runs through the end of the month. This will include 12 of the 19 teams unveiling new jerseys for this season. In 2014 every club will release one new jersey. The teams we are expecting changed kits from this year are Chivas USA, Colorado, Houston, Kansas City, Los Angeles, Montreal, the Red Bulls, Philadelphia, Portland and Seattle. It is unclear how much of a change these jerseys may have, but it is clear that it the modifications will drive revenue. New York will be the first to hold an event while Portland will end Jersey Week on February 28th. Will you be buying a new jersey? What do you think of this idea?

Cahill and Thierry Henry are confident that Petke can clean up the organization. It’s clear the players are glad to see Hans Backe out.
