As the USMNT had already topped their group, Mauricio Pochettino was able to make changes to his side that faced Turkiye. Only a couple of players grasped their opportunity to impress. Therefore, Mauricio Pochettino will revert to his strongest XI by making nine changes.
Predicted USA team to face Boznia and Herzegovina
Goalkeeper and defenders
Matt Freese (GK)
Whilst Matt Turner got the chance to feature against Turkiye, Matt Freese is Pochettino's number one. The New York City FC goalkeeper has impressed so far at the tournament, conceding just once in two games. Turner let three in during the one match he played. However, this was with a second-string lineup ahead of him.
Alex Freeman (RB)
Alex Freeman has impressed so far at the tournament, getting an assist against Paraguay and scoring in the match with Australia.
Chris Richards (CB)
The Crystal Palace center-back should come back into the side after being rested against Turkiye. He has been solid so far and has the legs that make him a great partner to Tim Ream.
Tim Ream (CB)
The USMNT captain was also rested against Turkiye, but will likely come back into the side. His side needs the 38-year-old's experience.
Antonee Robinson (LB)
He is one of the best left-backs in the Premier League and a nailed-on starter for the USMNT.
Midfielders
Tyler Adams (CDM)
Tyler Adams was rightly rested against Turkiye as he is injury-prone and was on a yellow card. Bookings have now been wiped, and Pochettino will need Adams in his midfield against Bosnia.
Sebastian Berhalter (CDM)
Sebastian Berhalter, as he had a great game against Turkiye. He assisted Auston Trusty's goal before scoring himself. The Vancouver Whitecaps man deserves to keep his place in the side. He and Weston McKennie will likely be the only two players to keep their place from the Turkiye game.
Weston McKennie (CAM)
McKennie is the only player to start all three of the USMNT games in the group stage. This shows how integral he is to Pochettino. He got the Stars and Stripes off to a great start by assisting the own-goal that opened their account in their first match of the tournament against Paraguay. The USMNT have options in the attacking midfield role with Malik Tillman and Gio Reyna waiting in the wings.
Forwards
Sergiño Dest (RW)
Sergiño Dest may be a right-back by trade, but he has been doing a job for the USMNT on the right wing. He looked a little shaky against Paraguay, but made amends by assisting Freeman's goal against Australia. Dest offers width and can deliver excellent crosses into the box.
Folarin Balogun (ST)
Folarin Balogun's brace against Paraguay made him a hero for the USMNT. Although he did not score against Australia, he still got an assist. It was wise for Pochettino to rest him against Australia, as Balogun was on a yellow card. Ricardo Pepi is not staking much of a claim to start ahead of Balogun. If the AS Monaco striker can continue scoring, he will likely secure a transfer this summer as well. He has been linked with multiple clubs in the Premier League and across Europe.
Christian Pulisic (LW)
The USMNT's star player impressed and got an assist against Paraguay. However, he had to be taken off at halftime due to a calf problem. This ruled him out of the match with Australia. Christian Pulisic then returned against Turkiye in a substitute appearance. If Pulisic is fully fit, then he has to start against Bosnia. Tim Weah did not have the best of games against Turkiye. Therefore, Pochettino will be banking on Pulisic being 100% or as close to it as possible.
