Thanksgiving came early for Villarreal, who were carved up in multi-goal loss to PSG
I don't remember sending a Thanksgiving dinner invitation to Charlie Brown and Snoopy. Safe to assume that Snoopy and friends got a pre-Thanksgiving feast alongside that invitation as PSG roasted, smoked, fried, and boiled Villarreal in what was a 6-0 decision.
Thanksgiving jokes aside, this was not a great display from Villarreal. While they did record 14 shots, PSG recorded 23 of their own (12 of which went on target). PSG also recorded 67% possession to just 33% for Villarreal. The Ligue 1 side went up 4-0 in the opening 17 minutes of the match and won 6-0. Alex Freeman was on the pitch for all six PSG goals. Despite winning a tackle, he was taken off the pitch after 80 minutes.
Adeniran leads LASK once again in win against Slovan Bratislava
LASK has quietly built a solid Champions League debut, one that only became more apparent on Tuesday in their contest against Slovan Bratislava. That game saw LASK establish a three-goal halftime lead, one that eventually became a 4-0 victory.
American striker Samuel Adeniran scored the fourth LASK goal of the night, doing so in the 48th minute. He recorded an additional shot on target during an hour-long appearance.

PSV drops second Champions League contest, this time to Club Brugge
A strong start to the 2026-27 campaign has been reversed to some extent for PSV. Though the club is in an early battle for the Eredivisie title, its struggles at the continental level have become quite apparent. While PSV dominated the offensive side of the match, the team still dropped a 2-1 decision to Club Brugge, who have won three of their first four Champions League contests.
Both Sergino Dest and Ricardo Pepi were involved for PSV. The former played the entire contest, while the latter came on in the 68th minute and recorded a shot on target.
At the midway point
With half of the 2026-27 UEFA Champions League league phase played, four of the clubs with USMNT players would currently qualify for the first knockout round. Borussia Dortmund and LASK would qualify comfortably, while Atletico Madrid and PSV would be the last two teams in.
The next matchday will take place in three weeks time. LASK will be taking on Bodø/Glimt. Meanwhile, PSV will travel to take on a Real Madrid side that is still unbeaten in Champions League action. Villarreal will take on a Slavia Praha side that is also struggling to find its form, having secured just one point in its opening four Champions League contests. Finally, Atletico Madrid hosts Viking.
