The Championship sides featuring American players continue to see some form of success early on in this campaign, with three of them now in the playoff spots. Here's how they fared on Saturday.

Another slow first half costs Middlesbrough, but the club rallies to salvage a point against Cardiff City

The first-half jitters came back for Middlesbrough during their latest contest against Cardiff City. While Middlesbrough would do enough to secure a sixth consecutive result, Jack Moylan and Ollie Tanner's first half goals were enough to force Middlesbrough to erase a two-goal deficit. Middlesbrough's two goals were scored by Tommy Conway and Will Lankshear.

Aidan Morris played another full 90 minutes, though he was unable to record any attacking contribution of his own. Sebastian Berhalter came into the match as a halftime substitute and ended up recording three shots on target during his involvement. Max Arfsten entered the contest about half an hour later and would end up conceding a foul during his 17 minutes of play.

Stoke City restores their run of form, defeats relegation-zone Derby County

After seeing their unbeaten run extinguished at the hands of Middlesbrough in the last matchday, Stoke City got back on track with a closely contested 1-0 victory against Derby County. Luke Graham scored the only goal of the game just four minutes after halftime.

Jack McGlynn started the contest and recorded two shots on target, though he was taken out of the game after the first half. Luca Bombino came in as a 37th-minute substitute; he played the remainder of the contest and recorded four tackles.

George Campbell yellow-carded, but West Brom flip early deficit

West Brom found themselves down 2-0 just 12 minutes into their contest against a Blackburn Rovers side that earned 10 points out of 12 over their last four games. Icelandic forward Andri Guðjohnsen scored both of Blackburn's goals to give them a very early lead in the contest.

From there, the game was almost entirely controlled by West Brom. Barney Stewart halved the early advantage just seven minutes later, while two second-half goals gave West Brom a 3-2 win against Blackburn Rovers. George Campbell was in the match for 86 minutes, though he picked up a yellow card during his appearance.

What's next?

Matchday 12 action begins with Middlesbrough's Friday afternoon road contest against Bolton. Meanwhile, Campbell and West Brom will travel to play a basement-dwelling Preston North End side. Also, McGlynn and Stoke City will host Bristol City. Both of those matches will take place at 10:00 a.m. Eastern Time on Saturday, October 24.
