The Premier League has been home to American-born legends like Clint Dempsey and Tim Howard. While this crop of players doesn't have the profile of those guys yet, some solid contributors making waves in England's top league.

Chris Richards vs Antonee Robinson

For Matchday 3, the biggest matchup of the week for USMNT players was at Craven Cottage, as Fulham hosted Crystal Palace in front of USMNT boss Mauricio Pochettino. Neither team had secured a win yet, and Fulham were without a point. Sadly, for Fulham fans, that would continue, and sadly for USMNT fans, neither player performed particularly well.

Robinson was beaten by Anan Khalaili on the eventual game-winner as he got a shot off, and Ben Chilwell finished the rebound, giving Crystal Palace a much-needed win. Jedi was upfield a whole lot in Fulham's wing-back formation, but his crossing still leaves a lot to be desired. He gets in great positions, but often fails to convert them. And at 29, it may be time to just accept that he isn't going to get it.

As for Chris Richards, he didn't fare much better. Two weeks after Crystal Palace manager Pierre Sage said he had hoped to sign a defensive "leader," Richards helped continue that narrative. He didn't register a tackle, but was pretty solid in the air. However, he contributed to a soft goal, and Palace still look shaky at the back.

But Richards and Robinson weren't the only Americans in action this weekend. Tyler Adams was back in the starting lineup for Bournemouth after coming off the bench last weekend. The American had five interventions and won seven duels in a solid performance as Bournemouth drew Newcastle 2-2. In the process, he even gained a new nickname from the broadcast crew.

Elsewhere. Haji Wright is still out of action for Coventry City, recovering from a quad and thigh injury that will keep him out for at least another month, maybe longer. Also, Brenden Aaronson has gone from starter to sub, playing 29 minutes in the 1-1 draw vs Brighton, and fans weren't pleased with the American.

The remaining 2 USMNT players in the Premier League, Gaga Slonina (Chelsea) and Zavier Gozo (Crystal Palace) did not play this weekend.
