Weston McKennie has played in Europe for his entire senior career to date, however, he spent time developing in the U.S.A. youth system.

For close to a decade, Weston McKennie represented the youth team of FC Dallas, but never made a senior appearance for them. Impressing as a youngster, McKennie made the switch to German side Schalke to compete in the Bundesliga.

It only took a year of growing in the youth team for McKennie to be pushed into the senior team. Playing in the defense and the midfield for Schalke, his versatility was enough to impress his current team Juventus to sign him, initially on loan.

When Juve signed McKennie on loan, he made history as the first U.S.A. player to represent Juventus - a significance given Juventus' worldly acclaim and historic stature in European football.

Partway through his time with Juventus, McKennie was sent out on loan to Leeds United. He gained valuable experience in the English Premier League, the world's most competitive and popular league.
